Step back in time. With the help of a costumed docent your students will travel through the history of Folsom from the Nisenan village of Yolimpo through the Gold Rush, the Sacramento Valley Railroad, the Pony Express, the development of Folsom and the surrounding area to 1961 when gold dredging came to an end.

The Museum houses a variety of artifacts that chronicle the settlement and development of the Folsom area. Tours for groups can be arranged in advance of the Folsom History Museum. A docent dressed in period costume presents tours of the museum. Allow 45 minutes for the tour. The Museum can also arrange for a package history tour including the Railroad Turntable, and the Folsom Pioneer Village. Allow 1 ˝ hours to tour all three areas. Tours must be booked in advance and there is a per person fee.
