How this Program Was Created

The Golden History Books are the basis of information for this program. The award-winning book series is a compilation of unedited, uninterpreted, primary source documents. In addition, they contain hundreds of 19th century photographs with modern captions. Both the subject of the photos and their captions are either provided by, or fact-checked through, experts before the information is published. For instance, information on Sutter's Fort was provided by historians at Sutter's Fort. Once edited to fit the length we needed, that information went back to the experts to double check before it was published.

In addition, a 35 year veteran teacher was consulted to help direct the final content and format of the material. As a result, the program was broken into segments for easy learning. Many visuals were added to aid in understanding various topics, and the rolling text on the screens was added to provide multiple was for the information to be absorbed based on the learning style of each individual.
